Occupational Therapist，Expressive Arts Therapist
Jing is a registered occupational therapist in Taiwan. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from National Taiwan University, and she has been working with children with special needs since completion in 2003, in a variety of settings including hospitals, out-patient clinics, schools, and in-home intervention services. Jing earned her Master of Arts in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University at Massachusetts for deepening her training in psychosocial development. Jing is completing a Certificate in DIRFloortime® of the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL) and a Certificate of the Sensory Integration Certification program of the University of Southern California Division of Occupational Science and Therapy and Western Psychological Services.
Jing has extensive pediatric experience including treating children with delayed development, ADHD, autism spectrum and DCD. Jing assist clients’ handwriting, pre-writing skill, reading ability (oculomotor function and visual perception ability), management of attention deficits and development of coping skills. She is passionate about incorporating expressive arts therapeutic practices and sensory integration approach in sessions to help her clients regulate physically, emotionally and cognitively.
Jing believes in the importance of empowering parents in terms of understanding the individual differences of their child as well as their own. Jing has conducted workshops for teachers and parents on sensory processing and emotional regulation, as well as how to develop and implement sensory diets in the school and home settings.
Aside from identifying what children’s difficulties are, Jing believes that helping children reach their highest potential, develop self-worth and confidence, and build resilience are important as well.
