Davy worked as a Psychometrist at Trent University before obtaining his doctorate degree at the University of Manchester. He also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Schema Focused Therapy (SFT) and is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society.
At Trent University, Davy provided psychometric testing and counseling for students with learning disabilities. Davy has worked as a Mental Health Counselor in Peterborough, Canada, and as a Counselor for international students at the University of Manchester and Manchester College. He has worked in Hangzhou as an International Recruitment Specialist and a Director of a language school.
As a Psychologist, Davy understands how the mind, experiences, behavior and developmental history are linked. Using this knowledge, he assesses and communicates his clients’ issues, then works with them to find appropriate treatment plans. Additionally, he spreads awareness of mental health by hosting seminars and trainings to the community and professional groups. As ELG’s Community Relations Manager, he develops meaningful relationships in the wider community to ensure that people know that ELG can provide necessary support.
Davy loves the ELG team’s energy and sense of family. He’s impressed by how much the team cares about their community and clients. While the job can be demanding, the children’s laughter and the smiles from his clients make the whole experience more than worth it.
