Prior to joining ELG, Julia held a dual position where she was the lead regional Speech-Language Pathologist for the city of Chicago and Marketing Development Manager. She provided treatment to children with special needs, from birth to twelve years. Her work extended beyond the therapy session, through the development of home practice materials and educational workshops for parent and teacher groups.
Julia has extensive experience working with children with mild to severe speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing deficits, and she has provided therapeutic services within a variety of clinical settings. Julia also has a long history of volunteering in her local community.
As Assistant Director at ELG, Julia oversees Innovative Learning Center (ILC) program content and intervention planning, provides individual and group instruction, manages support staff, maintains strong relationships with the broader multi-disciplinary team and families, and helps to create a supportive learning environment for each child at ILC.
Julia believes best outcomes for children are achieved through intentional learning, meaningful opportunities, and consistent team collaboration. She is passionate about providing children with meaningful opportunities that stimulate their curiosity and foster perseverance.
