Vicky O holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Iowa, US. Having worked in a learning center and public schools in Iowa, Vicky has experience in providing therapy for children with ASD, Down syndrome, dysarthria, and phonological disorder. There she planned group and individual therapy according to the needs of each child, focusing on social skills, articulation exercises, language training, and counseling. Vicky worked together with a multidisciplinary team to discuss each child’s needs and design individualized treatment goals, much like she does at ELG.

Vicky specializes in working with school-aged children with communication difficulties, providing speech and language training to facilitate their communication and self-advocacy skills. At ELG, Vicky assists the program leaders in our full-time programs, and provides support for children with special needs in small group settings. She also provides evidence-based individual treatment to children with speech and language impairments. Vicky offers parents insights into their child’s developmental challenges, and helps them to make informed decisions regarding the treatment or aids they can use.

Vicky likes to be a source of support for both children and their parents, working together to solve problems and to ensure that the child has a supportive environment in which they can grow. She enjoys the mutual learning experience between her and the children, and loves to see their progress.
