On December 4, 2019, ELG welcomed a group of distinguished guests – the U.S. Ambassador to China, Terry Branstad, the U.S. Consul General, Sean Stein, and his delegation. The group enthusiastically toured the campus and observed special education and therapy activities, including a receptive language and social skills group facilitated by ELG Senior Program Facilitator, Tiffany Liang.

At the core of ELG’s Programs is a focus on developing and expanding the speech-language and social communication skills of each child, so that they can express themselves and develop enjoyable relationships with peers.

The group took great interest in deepening their understanding of the full-time Program and Services offered by China’s leading private provider of special education, and spent time chatting with families about their children and impactful experiences at ELG. Let’s take a look at what the Ambassador had to say about his official visit:

A key highlight was the Ambassador enjoying a cup of coffee prepared and served by older children and young adults at Allo Café. Allo Café is a key part of ELG’s Life Skills Program, which specifically supports older children and young adults with special needs to develop practical and vocational skills for lifelong independence.

It was a great honor to have the Ambassador recognize the untiring work of everyone at ELG and Xiersen (ELG’s sister organization, an officially registered NGO supporting the development of the special education sector in China) over the past thirteen years, to ensure that all children have the chance to reach their full potential.

As said by Monte Rosen, Founder and Managing Director of ELG, in a recent interview:
“The mission of ELG is to help more and more families and children in China with special needs. We have more than 30 experts from all
over the world with proven academic achievements and successful experience in the field of special education and rehabilitation. We are servicing every child with comprehensive assessment, counseling and therapy solutions. Every child can engage, learn and grow! This is our belief and goal.”
